November 2026. Season opening concert. "The American Spirit"
The Meridian Symphony Orchestra opens its season with "The American Spirit," a musical celebration of the nation’s 250th anniversary. Aaron Copland’s bright and energetic An Outdoor Overture sets the stage, followed by his stirring A Lincoln Portrait, featuring narrator Bill Kloppenburg and the enduring words of Abraham Lincoln. The program culminates with Howard Hanson’s sweeping Symphony No. 2, “Romantic”—a work filled with soaring melodies, rich orchestral color, and an unmistakably American sense of optimism. Join the Meridian Symphony Orchestra for an evening celebrating the music, ideals, and spirit of America.

December 2026. Holiday concert (Saturday evening & Sunday matinee). "Tis the Season"
Celebrate the holidays with the Meridian Symphony Orchestra at "Tis the Season," a festive concert filled with the warmth, wonder, and joy of the season. From beloved holiday favorites to sparkling orchestral selections, this program offers something for everyone and is sure to put the entire family in the holiday spirit. Make the Meridian Symphony Orchestra part of your holiday tradition and join us for a joyful musical celebration of this most wonderful time of the year!

March 2027. Spring concert with Young Artist performance. "Brush Up Your Shakespeare"
For more than four centuries, the words and characters of William Shakespeare have inspired composers to create some of their most memorable music. "Brush Up Your Shakespeare" brings the Bard to the concert hall for an evening of music inspired by his comedies, tragedies, unforgettable characters, and timeless stories. From romance and laughter to intrigue, drama, and heartbreak, the Meridian Symphony Orchestra explores Shakespeare’s extraordinary influence on the world of music. All the world’s a stage—and on this evening, the orchestra takes center stage!
This concert will also showcase one of the talented winners of the Meridian Symphony Orchestra’s Young Artist Competition, performing as a featured soloist with the orchestra.

May 2027. Season finale concert with Young Artist performance. "Busy B’s"
Bach, Brahms, Beethoven—and beyond! The Meridian Symphony Orchestra closes its season with "Busy B’s", a concert devoted entirely to composers whose last names begin with that very busy letter.
The program will include music by Ludwig van Beethoven, as we commemorate the 200th anniversary of his death in 1827, alongside works by other celebrated “B” composers from across the centuries. The concert will also showcase one of the talented winners of the Meridian Symphony Orchestra’s Young Artist Competition, performing as a featured soloist with the orchestra. It’s an evening of brilliant composers, beautiful music, and plenty of B’s as the Meridian Symphony Orchestra brings its season to a spirited close!

June 12, 2027. Kleiner Park Free Outdoor Concert. This outdoor concert features favorites from the MSO's previous concerts and is performed during the City of Meridian's annual Gene Kieiner Day celebration. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and cold drinks and join the MSO for this free concert at Julius M. Kleiner Memorial Park located at 1900 N. Records Avenue in Meridian.
