The Meridian Symphony Orchestra (MSO) is always excited to welcome new musicians. We hold live auditions each year for the upcoming concert season.

Musician Openings for Upcoming 2026–2027 Season

Live audition dates for the 2026–2027 season will be announced in June.  We will be looking to fill the following positions:

• Principal 1st Violin - Concertmaster

• Principal Viola

• Principal Oboe

• String section members (Violins, Violas, Cellos, Basses)

If you're interested in auditioning for one of these roles, please contact our Personnel Manager to arrange a special audition.  Also, please complete the Audition Form with your information,

Observe a Rehearsal

Curious about what it's like to play with the MSO? Prospective musicians are welcome to observe a rehearsal during the concert season (September–May).

​

When: Monday evenings, 7:00–9:15 p.m.
Where: Meridian High School Band Room

​

To attend:

• Follow other musicians carrying instrument cases.

• Find a seat in the back and enjoy.

     

This is a great way to get a feel for our rehearsal environment and orchestra culture.​

 

How to Audition

Musicians may contact the MSO Personnel Manager at any time to check for current openings or to arrange an audition.  We offer two audition options:

Option 1: Live Audition

• Behind-the-screen format

• Includes a portion of a standard solo work

• Includes required excerpts listed for your instrument

• By appointment only

Option 2: Video Audition

• Submit a YouTube video of the same material required for the live audition

• Send your video link to the MSO Personnel Manager

• Your video will be forwarded to the appropriate audition panel​​
