We’ve received some questions about why the Meridian Symphony Orchestra isn’t performing in Meridian this season, so we wanted to share a little background.

 

As a nonprofit community orchestra, we rely entirely on public school facilities for both rehearsals and performances. When selecting our concert dates this season, we explored every performing venue in the West Ada School District.

 

Unfortunately, only one Meridian-area facility was available on the dates we needed, and it did not grant access to the percussion equipment required for our concerts. That would have meant sourcing, renting, and transporting all of the necessary equipment from another location. We were unable to find the equipment available on our concert dates, and the additional logistics and expense of transporting it on an already busy concert day made that option unworkable.

We are disappointed that we won’t be performing in Meridian this season, and we very much hope to be back in the City of Meridian for our 2027–28 season.
