AUDITIONS

The Meridian Symphony invites area musicians to audition for the following positions for the 2024/2025 season.. 

​

  • String sections
    (Violin I, Violin II, Viola, Cello, and Contrabass)

  • ​Second Bassoon

  • Trumpet 2 & 3

​

Location:  First Presbyterian Church, 950 W State Street, Boise Idaho 83702.​

​

Date & Time:  August 18th (Sunday), from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m., BY APPOINTMENT.   See Options below for appointment information.

There are now two audition options to becoming a member of the orchestra:

 

Option 1:  A live behind-screen audition consisting of a portion of a standard solo work and the excerpts listed on this page for your instrument.  Live auditions are by appointment only.   (Click to Schedule an Audition)

 

Option 2:  A video audition posted to YouTube of the same material from option number 1., Send the YouTube link to the MSO Personnel Manager. The audition video will then be forwarded to the appropriate audition panel.

Rehearsal & Concert Information for prospective members:   Rehearsals are held on Monday nights throughout our performance season, beginning August 26, 2024. Rehearsals are held at Meridian High School from 7:00 to 9:15 pm.​  Our rehearsal and concert schedule is typically set by the beginning of September and is communicated through our musician member announcements.  At present, we have four concert dates each season including one outdoor performance in June.​
